For our 2nd anniversary Mike & I decided to go to Amicalola Falls State Park
in
Dawsonville
Georgia.
While there we stayed in a cabin. The weather wasn't the best, it was very
cold and foggy the first day, so foggy that you couldn't even tell you were
in the
mountains. The second day though it snowed! That may not mean much to you folks
from the north, but for we Floridians it was quite exciting. Mike, the Maine
boy, was in heaven.
The park is beautiful and the falls are quite impressive. The Amicalola Lodge was really nice and we ate in the dining room a few times. We were able to feed both of us for under $15! I would highly recommend stopping by if you are ever in North Georgia.
We did see several people starting on the Appalachian Trail. It was rather miserable weather for hiking, but since it takes most people about 8 months, it will probably be perfect by the time they hit Maine.
