This is the base of the falls. Amicalola Falls is the highest waterfall on this side of the Mississippi. If you look closely to the left you can see the steps up to the Lodge at the top of the falls. There are 425 steps to get to the Lodge. Since Mike & I had been sick and were still having trouble breathing, we opted not to attempt these steps on this trip.

But we definitly intend to go back when its warmer and climb all of them!
