Beijing Day 4
This was
our last full day in Beijing. Today we walked down to the Temple of Heaven
Park and toured the temples there. This is where the emperors
of the Qing and Ming dynasties would go each January to pray for
a good harvest. It is a beautiful park. Very green with lots of trees
and
birds. There are many different buildings, ones where the emperor
would
fast, another where he practiced abstinence, another where sacrifices
were made and on and on. I can't believe how perfect the weather has been since we got here. It has been consistently in the low 70s and clear and sunny. What luck!
Well tomorrow is the day. I can't believe it is already here. I have to admit I am terrified! We are meeting the rest of the group at 9:00 am then onto Lanzhou, check into our hotel and then we get Katie-Beth. Eeeeeeek! How am I ever going to sleep tonight?
Gosh I hope she likes us!
